The BFT DEIMOS AC A600 and the BFT Deimos 500 BT are both BFT Deimos sliding gate motors at 9 m/min with mechanical locking and personal key release. The AC A600 uses 230 Vac motor at 400W, handles 600 kg, SHYRA AC control unit, mechanical clutch impact, semi-intensive, no slowdown, and no interconnectivity. The 500 BT uses 24 Vdc at 70W, 500 kg, QSC D MA board, electronic torque limiter, intensive use, EElink, and Bluetooth LCD programming. Choose the AC A600 for straightforward 230V residential use; the 500 BT for smart connectivity and 24V battery backup.

The BFT DEIMOS AC A600 uses a mechanical clutch as its obstacle impact reaction system. The clutch physically slips when the motor’s driving torque exceeds a set threshold, disconnecting the gearbox from the motor output without an electronic signal. This is a purely mechanical response — no sensor, encoder, or current monitoring is involved. Unlike electronic torque limiters (as in the Deimos 500 BT) or D-Track, a mechanical clutch cannot distinguish between a heavy gate’s inertia and a genuine obstacle. Clutch sensitivity must be correctly adjusted during installation for reliable obstacle response.

The BFT DEIMOS AC A600 explicitly specifies slowdown: No — the gate runs at full 9 m/min speed until the electromechanical limit switch cuts the motor at the end of travel. Without electronic deceleration, the gate arrives at its open and closed positions at full speed, relying on the mechanical stop and limit switch to end the cycle abruptly. For a 600 kg gate, this means the gate structure, rack, motor mount, and stops experience the full impact of deceleration on every cycle. Correct mechanical stop cushioning is particularly important for long-term reliability.

The BFT DEIMOS AC A600 kit includes 2 x MITTO B RCB04 R1 rolling code 4-channel remote controls with a published range of 50 metres in open field and 100 metres in free field. The 4-channel format allows one remote to control up to four separate BFT receivers or automation zones. The SHYRA AC control unit incorporates a receiver compatible with BFT’s MITTO rolling code protocol. The 50/100m operational range is generous for Abu Dhabi villa driveways, allowing the gate to be triggered before the vehicle reaches the entrance.
