FAAC is an Italian manufacturer of automation for gates and parking barriers, together with remote controls and control boards. In Abu Dhabi you will find FAAC motors on villa gates, compound entrances and car parks. The model number tells you the job: the C720, 740, 746, 741 and 844 cover sliding gates from 400 kg to 1,800 kg, the 413, 415 and 770N cover swing gates, and the B614 and B680H cover parking barriers.
For a customer this means two things. A new FAAC gate is simple to automate, and an old FAAC gate can usually be repaired without replacing the whole motor, because boards, photocells and remotes are sold separately. Using FAAC gates in Abu Dhabi
Gates here work in heat above 45°C, fine dust and humid coastal air. The right model, and a little care, make a big difference to how long a motor lasts.
Villas and townhouses
Khalifa City, Al Reef, Mohammed Bin Zayed City, Al Raha and Yas. A 400 to 900 kg FAAC sliding motor, or a 413 or 415 swing motor on a two-leaf gate, covers most villa gates. Send us the pillar width and leaf size so we can match the right model.
Compounds and buildings
Shared entrances open many times a day. Choose a heavier rating than the gate needs, such as the 741 or the 844 ER Z16 for sliding gates, add XP photocells and the XLED flashing light, and keep a spare remote and board in stock.
Car parks and ramps
Towers, malls and offices need barriers that open all day. The B614 comes as a 4 m and a 5 m barrier, and the B680H is a heavy-duty model for busier or wider lanes. We also list a 4.3 m barrier arm. Add a loop detector and photocells for busy lanes.
Musaffah and industrial yards
Long, heavy steel gates in workshops and warehouses need a motor built for the load, such as the 1,800 kg 844 ER Z16. These gates collect sand, so a sound rack and regular cleaning matter.
Keeping a FAAC motor reliable in the UAE climate
- Heat: Fit the control board in a shaded, ventilated spot and keep the motor cover closed, so heat above 45°C and dust stay out.
- Dust and sand: Clean and lightly grease the rack every few months and keep the limit switches free of sand. A worn rack makes the gate jerk and overheats a 740 or 741 motor.
- Humidity and coastal air: On Abu Dhabi island and near the sea, check cable entries and the board for moisture and corrosion.
- Power and safety: Voltage spikes damage boards, so use a surge protector. Keep XP photocells aligned and clean, so the gate stops safely when something is in the way.
- Service: A yearly check by a technician is cheaper than replacing a burnt board or gearmotor.
