The BFT ARES BT A1000 is a 24V DC intensive-use sliding gate operator for gates up to 1000 kg, manufactured in Italy by BFT. Running at 9 m/min with electromechanical limit switches, D-Track impact reaction, HAMAL control unit, and mechanical locking, it suits Abu Dhabi villa gates, commercial entrances, shared property access points, and parking gates requiring reliable intensive-use performance. The 24V motor with 230V board supply and knob-plus-personal-key release system adds both convenience and security to 1000 kg gate installations.

The BFT ARES BT A1000’s IP24 rating is the lowest outdoor protection level of any motor in the POWERgate Abu Dhabi sliding gate range. IP24 means protection against solid objects larger than 12mm (2) and water splashing from any angle (4). Most sliding gate motors carry IP44 or higher. For Abu Dhabi outdoor installation, IP24 means the motor should be mounted in a sheltered, well-ventilated position away from direct irrigation spray, rain, and windblown dust accumulation. Direct exposure to the elements should be avoided.

BFT’s D-Track is a proprietary impact reaction system that combines a virtual encoder with amperometric obstacle detection. Rather than relying solely on a physical encoder or current spike to detect an obstacle, D-Track monitors the motor’s torque profile throughout the full 1000 kg gate travel cycle. When the detected torque deviates from the learned profile — indicating an unexpected resistance — D-Track triggers a controlled reverse. This reduces both false triggers on a heavy gate and the risk of the motor completing a full cycle against a genuine obstacle.

The BFT ARES BT A1000 uses a 24 Vdc motor powered through the HAMAL control unit, which connects to a 230 Vac mains supply. The 230V mains feeds the HAMAL board, which converts it to 24V for the motor and charges an optional backup battery. This architecture allows the 24V motor to benefit from battery backup during Abu Dhabi power cuts while the system runs from standard 230V residential supply. The electromechanical limit switches signal the HAMAL board directly at the physical gate end positions, providing definitive stop signals independent of D-Track.

The BFT ARES BT A1000 carries a 24-month BFT manufacturer warranty.
