The BFT MOOVI 30’s sensitive edge impact reaction uses a physical pressure-sensitive strip on the boom arm — when the arm contacts an obstacle, the strip sends a signal to the ALPHA BOM board to stop or reverse. The GIOTTO’s encoder-based impact reaction monitors motor resistance electronically without a physical contact strip. A sensitive edge requires correct boom-tip strip installation; the encoder requires calibration of the force profile during commissioning.

IP24 provides protection against solid objects over 12mm and water splashing from any direction. It is significantly lower than the IP54 on the GIOTTO and IP55 on the MAXIMA ULTRA 36. For fully outdoor Abu Dhabi installations exposed to rain, dust, or sand, IP24 is marginal. The MOOVI 30 is best suited to covered or partially sheltered parking entrances such as basement ramp barriers or canopy-covered compound gates where direct weather exposure is limited.
