The RIB K800’s L1-CRX board supports photocell autotest as required by EN 12453:2022 — the current European standard for powered gate forces and safety. EN 12453:2022 introduced mandatory automated self-testing of safety photocells on each gate cycle to confirm the beam is active and correctly aligned before the gate moves. The K800’s automatic photocell verification confirms safety device integrity without relying on manual testing, reducing the risk of an undetected failed photocell allowing unsafe gate movement in Abu Dhabi residential and commercial installations.

RIB does not include a radio receiver in the K800 as standard, requiring the installer to specify and add a compatible plug-in receiver separately. Kit includes: 1× K800 motor with L1-CRX board, 1× SUN 2CH 2-channel transmitter, 1× FIT SLIM photocell pair, 1× SAIL blinker, 1× push button, and 4× 1m nylon rack. The FIT SLIM photocells use a slimmer housing than the K2200’s FIT SIM, designed for tighter pillar positions. Anchor plate must be sourced separately.

The RIB K800’s L1-CRX board — the same unit as in the K2200 — provides gradual start (ramp-up from rest), electronic force adjustment (set obstacle cut-off threshold), soft-stop on approach (deceleration before limits), electronic brake (controlled motor stop), and pedestrian opening command (partial gate travel for foot access). These five functions come as standard, giving the K800 a professional control feature set appropriate for Abu Dhabi gated community access without additional boards.

The RIB K400’s 100% duty (S1 continuous) reflects its 24V DC motor running at only 96.6W — so little thermal load that no rest period is required. The K800’s 50% duty reflects a 230V AC motor at higher wattage generating more heat per cycle at 800 kg. Despite lower duty percentage, the K800 supports 400 suggested daily cycles versus the K400’s 78 — the K800 is designed for busier gates even with rest intervals between cycles.
