The TELCOMA EVO 600 draws 800W at 230V AC for a 600 kg gate, while the TELCOMA ACE 601 uses 250W at 24V DC for the same gate weight. The EVO 600’s higher wattage reflects the inherently different efficiency and startup torque characteristics of a 230V AC asynchronous motor versus a 24V DC motor. Despite delivering 540N vs the ACE 601’s 600N, the EVO 600’s 230V architecture provides strong starting torque without a battery system, at the cost of higher standby power.

TELCOMA specifies Sun Power compatibility: No for the EVO 600. Sun Power refers to TELCOMA’s solar power accessory system that allows compatible motors to operate from solar panel and battery supply. The EVO 600’s 230V AC motor architecture is not compatible with TELCOMA’s solar integration. Abu Dhabi buyers who require solar or battery-powered gate automation should specify the 24V DC TELCOMA ACE 601 instead, which is compatible with backup battery options for off-grid or power-cut resilience.

The TELCOMA EVO 600’s adjustable fixing plate provides both height and depth adjustment. Height adjustment moves the pinion up or down to match the rack’s centreline position. Depth adjustment moves the motor horizontally toward or away from the rack face, setting the correct rack-to-pinion clearance and engagement depth. Most motors offer height adjustment only; depth adjustment on the EVO 600 allows precise rack engagement geometry in both axes without requiring foundation modification for Abu Dhabi concrete pillar bases.

The TELCOMA EVO 600 uses the T101 built-in control unit at 230V. Two current figures are published: 3.4A motor current (the current the motor draws during gate movement) and 6.3A control unit maximum current (the total circuit current including all accessory outputs at maximum load). Circuit protection must be sized for the 6.3A board total rather than the motor’s 3.4A alone. Undersizing the fuse or MCB for 3.4A risks tripping during commissioning when all accessories draw simultaneously.

The TELCOMA EVO 600’s self-learning function automatically memorises the gate’s full open and closed travel positions during the first commissioning run, eliminating manual limit setting. Standard packing contains: EVO 600 gearmotor, T101 control unit, encoder, magnetic limit switches, and manual release with coded lock. The 40% duty and TS10 grease lubrication support standard residential daily use. Receiver, remotes, photocells, rack, blinker, and foundation plate must be sourced separately.
