BFT KUSTOS BT A25 Swing Gate Motor Kit

The BFT KUSTOS BT A25 features a covered worm screw mechanism — a protective housing enclosing the worm gear that drives the 295mm rod stroke. In standard surface-mounted motors, the worm screw is exposed or lightly sealed, allowing fine dust, sand, and airborne particles to accumulate on the gear teeth over time, accelerating wear. The cover on the KUSTOS BT A25 reduces this ingress significantly, extending the lubrication life of the worm gear and reducing maintenance frequency. For Abu Dhabi’s dusty environment — particularly near construction zones, desert-facing villas, or properties in areas with frequent wind-driven sand — the covered worm screw is a meaningful durability advantage even within the motor’s IP44 protection class.

Both the KUSTOS BT A25 and IGEA BT use 24V motors at 40W with THALIA control and D-Track, but they differ in capacity and mechanism. The KUSTOS BT A25 is a linear rod actuator with a 295mm stroke handling up to 400 kg per leaf — 150 kg more than the IGEA BT’s 250 kg limit. The IGEA BT uses an articulated arm mechanism suited to large, deep pillars and reaches 125°. The KUSTOS BT A25 uses a standard rod-and-bracket installation suited to most Abu Dhabi villa pillars and opens to 118°. Choose the KUSTOS BT A25 for heavier gates on standard pillars; choose the IGEA BT for lighter gates on oversized or deep pillars where the articulated arm geometry is required.

At 13 seconds per cycle, the BFT KUSTOS BT A25 is the fastest surface-mounted swing gate motor in our range, opening a 2.5m gate leaf in 13 seconds — faster than the ATHOS AC A25 (14 seconds), IGEA BT (15 seconds), IGEA KIT (15 seconds), and BILL range (16–21 seconds). This speed comes from the motor’s 24V DC drive and 295mm stroke optimised for quick residential cycling. Combined with an intensive-use duty cycle, the KUSTOS BT A25 maintains this 13-second performance reliably across high daily cycle counts without thermal degradation — making it particularly suitable for Abu Dhabi households with multiple vehicles passing several times a day.

The BFT KUSTOS BT A25 kit includes 2 x BFT MITTO2 B RCB remote controls — BFT’s 2-channel rolling code transmitter with built-in receiver confirmation. The MITTO2 designation confirms a 2-channel unit. The B indicates the black housing variant, and RCB denotes Rolling Code Bidirectional capability, meaning the remote can both send a command and receive confirmation from the control board that the command was received and acted upon. This bidirectional communication provides the user with feedback on whether the gate has opened or closed — particularly useful for Abu Dhabi villas where the remote may be used at the boundary of radio range. Additional MITTO remotes can be paired to the THALIA control board as needed.

The BFT KUSTOS BT A25 carries a 24-month manufacturer warranty from purchase covering material and workmanship defects, and is manufactured in Italy to BFT’s quality standards. Warranty is voided by power surge damage to the THALIA control board, incorrect bracket geometry placing off-axis stress on the 295mm covered worm screw mechanism, D-Track force miscalibration causing repeated false obstacle detections and motor reversals, or installation outside the motor’s IP44 protection class in fully exposed dusty or wet positions.
