CAME KRONO KR300D Swing Gate Motor

The CAME KRONO KR300D features a built-in emergency release lever — a mechanical lever integrated directly into the motor housing that disengages the gearmotor from the gate leaf during a power cut, without requiring a separate key, knob, or tool. Unlike the trilobe key release on the CAME AMICO and AXL 2M, the triangle key release on BFT ATHOS motors, or the top-access key release on the BENINCA BILL range, the KRONO’s lever is a direct mechanical disengage that can be operated immediately by hand. This is a meaningful safety advantage for Abu Dhabi properties where the gate release key may not be immediately accessible during a power emergency. After manual operation, the lever is returned to the engaged position before restoring motor control.

The CAME KRONO KR300D supports: 400 kg at a 3.0m leaf, 600 kg at a 2.5m leaf, and 800 kg at a 2.0m leaf. This variable capacity follows the same lever-arm physics as the CAME AXO AX302304: a shorter gate leaf generates less torque at the hinge for the same weight, so the motor can handle proportionally heavier gates on shorter leaves. At 2.0m, a 800 kg gate exerts far less rotational force at the hinge than the same weight on a 3.0m leaf. Abu Dhabi buyers should match their gate’s actual leaf length and weight to the correct row in this table. A heavy solid steel gate of 700 kg on a 2.5m leaf falls within the 600 kg limit at that length — it would require the 3.0m rating to be correct, which the KRONO cannot meet at that weight.

The CAME KRONO KR300D lists no limit-switch microswitch, meaning it does not use a dedicated electronic microswitch to detect the open or closed gate position. Instead, the KRONO relies on the compatible control panel’s work-time programming to determine how long the motor runs in each direction, stopping the gate at the set position when the programmed time elapses. The motor’s 400–3000N adjustable thrust is set to disengage (via the force/clutch adjustment on the control panel) when the gate reaches the mechanical stop at end-of-travel. This is a robust and commonly used design in 230V irreversible gearmotors — the mechanical stop defines the gate position, and the control panel’s timing and force settings prevent the motor from over-driving beyond that stop.

The CAME KRONO KR300D is 956mm long (just under one metre) and weighs 10 kg. The 956mm physical length means the motor housing occupies nearly a full metre along the gate leaf or pillar face from its rear bracket to the front arm pivot. In a standard Abu Dhabi villa gate installation, this length must fit within the space available between the gate post and the motor arm bracket on the gate leaf, particularly when the gate is fully closed. At 10 kg, the motor’s fixing brackets must be rated and secured for this weight, particularly on stone or brick pillars where anchor bolt sizing must account for both the motor weight and the full 400–3000N thrust reaction force transmitted back through the bracket to the pillar wall during gate movement.

The CAME KRONO KR300D carries a 24-month manufacturer warranty from purchase. The KRONO’s IP54 protection (dust-resistant and water splash-proof) is better than IP44 motors, providing reliable outdoor durability for Abu Dhabi pillar installations. Key warranty considerations: because there is no limit-switch microswitch, the control panel work-time must be correctly calibrated — too long a run time causes the motor to repeatedly drive against the mechanical stop at full thrust, stressing the die-cast aluminium structure and the gate’s hinge fixings over time. The built-in emergency release lever must not be operated while the motor is running — disengaging under power can cause sudden uncontrolled gate movement. The right-side designation means installation on the wrong leaf side will cause the arm to push against the gate rather than pull it, voiding warranty through mechanical misuse.
