The LIFE SIN 3 UNI’s 12-second 90° cycle makes it the fastest jointed-arm swing gate motor in the POWERgate Abu Dhabi range, at 1.7 rpm output speed. Most jointed-arm motors take 13–15 seconds — the CAME FTX20DGC reaches 13 seconds at its fastest adjustable setting, and BFT IGEA articulated arm motors take 14–15 seconds. The SIN 3 UNI’s speed comes from LIFE’s gear unit design, which prioritises cycle speed over gear reduction ratio, producing 280Nm of torque at a faster shaft rotation rate than slower-speed arm motors of similar output power.

The LIFE SIN 3 UNI uses electric limit switches for both opening and closing positions, unlike the LIFE Optimo OP3 and OP5 which use mechanical stops. Electric limit switches send a signal to the control panel when the arm reaches the set position, stopping the motor electronically. This allows precise, adjustable position setting without physically moving a mechanical stop — particularly useful on arm motors where the correct open position may vary depending on the gate leaf’s arc geometry. Re-adjustment is done by repositioning the switch rather than grinding or repositioning a concrete or steel stop.

LIFE describes the SIN 3 UNI as having silent gear unit mechanics — a gear train design and gear material selection that minimises the mechanical noise produced during motor operation. For Abu Dhabi villa gates near bedroom windows, sleeping areas, or where neighbour proximity makes early-morning or late-evening gate noise undesirable, a quieter motor is a genuine quality-of-life factor. LIFE lists a larger-sized jointed arm as an optional accessory for the SIN 3 UNI. The standard arm shipped with the motor is sized for typical gate leaf and pillar geometries within the 3m specification. The larger arm extends the reach between the motor output shaft and the gate leaf bracket, accommodating installations where the pillar is wider, the gate leaf profile requires a greater distance between arm pivot points, or the standard arm’s geometry does not produce a full 90° opening arc. The LIFE SIN 3 UNI carries a 24-month manufacturer warranty. The kit supplies one motor only — a complete installation requires a compatible LIFE control unit (not included), safety photocells, flashing light, remote controls, and push button. The 140°C overheating protection is lower than LIFE’s Optimo motors, meaning the 35% intermittence must be strictly observed — overuse triggers the thermal cutout at a lower temperature than most motors.
