Starting force is lower because the motor’s progressive start-up ramps the output gradually from rest rather than applying full force instantly — protecting the door mechanism and reducing jerk on the spring and roller hardware. Obstacle detection monitors against the 650N starting profile as the baseline before rising to peak during travel.

The Somfy Dexxo Pro 800’s independent opening and closing speed programmable from 3.5 cm/s to 18 cm/s spans from very slow (2.1 m/min — suitable for high-security or sensitive pedestrian access) to fast (10.8 m/min — standard residential speed).
