The STC (Smart Torque Control) System continuously calculates the actual torque being applied by the motor at each point of the boom’s travel arc. This allows the CP.EVA control unit to apply precise force limits that account for the boom’s changing mechanical advantage as it swings from vertical to horizontal. At Abu Dhabi sites, STC improves obstacle detection accuracy and reduces false reversals caused by wind or boom vibration.

An absolute encoder knows the boom’s exact angular position at all times — even after a power cut — without needing a reference run. This allows the EVA.5 to apply programmed slowdown exactly at the correct point in the arm’s arc on every cycle, preventing mechanical end-stop impacts. Standard encoders lose position after power loss and require re-homing before accurate slowdown can be applied.

The BENINCA EVA.5 supports installation of FTC.S photocells using a concealed routing system — the photocell wiring runs inside the barrier housing and boom arm rather than externally. This protects wiring from Abu Dhabi’s UV exposure, dust, and physical damage in outdoor car parks.
