The CAME G0601’s 40 × 100 mm rectangular section places more material along the 100mm face — the axis of greatest bending — providing higher structural rigidity per unit weight. The smaller 60×40mm section used on the shorter 4.2m boom would deflect excessively under the G0601’s 6.85m span.
