Rolling shutter motors are torque-driven rather than thrust-driven because they rotate a shaft to wind a heavy curtain, not push a panel along a track. The KINGgates RING 380-PLUS’s 430 Nm torque at 1330W reflects the rotational force needed to start winding a 380 kg balanced shutter curtain from a standstill. The KINGgates RING 380-PLUS’s integrated electro-brake applies a braking force to the motor shaft when power is removed — holding the shutter curtain in position and preventing it from unwinding under gravity. The KINGgates RING 380-PLUS’s 8 rpm output speed means the shutter shaft completes 8 full rotations per minute — the curtain’s rise or fall speed depends on the shaft diameter and curtain geometry.
