The C max 60mm on the CAME AXI25DGS means the motor bracket mounting point on the gate pillar must be positioned within a maximum of 60mm perpendicular to the gate hinge pivot axis. This is significantly more restrictive than the ATS telescopic range’s 200mm C max, and it is the tightest geometry constraint of any motor in the POWERgate Abu Dhabi swing gate range. The 60mm limit reflects the AXI25DGS’s actuator arm design: the motor must be mounted very close to the hinge for its stroke to drive the gate through the correct arc. This makes the AXI25DGS specifically suited to narrow pillar faces, thin-walled gate posts, or installations where the motor bracket must sit directly adjacent to the hinge. Gates with wider pillar profiles where the bracket is naturally further than 60mm from the hinge pivot require a motor with a larger C max tolerance, such as the CAME ATS30AGS (200mm) or an appropriate BFT KUSTOS model.

Both the CAME AXI25DGS and BFT KUSTOS BT A25 are 24V motors for 2.5m swing gates with encoder/magnetic limit control and IP44 protection, but they differ in key specifications. The AXI25DGS delivers 120W at 5A with 400–2000N thrust and 50% duty cycle, while the KUSTOS BT A25 uses 40W with 400–2000N thrust and intensive use rating. The AXI25DGS handles up to 250 kg versus the KUSTOS BT A25’s 400 kg. The AXI25DGS has a C max of 60mm (very restrictive), while the KUSTOS BT A25 has a 295mm rod stroke with more flexible bracket geometry. The KUSTOS BT A25 uses BFT’s D-Track and THALIA board; the AXI25DGS uses CAME’s encoder system and CAME control panel. For lighter 2.5m gates on narrow pillars, the AXI25DGS fits where the KUSTOS BT A25 cannot. For heavier gates or standard pillar geometry, the KUSTOS BT A25’s 400 kg capacity and flexible geometry are advantages.

The CAME AXI25DGS uses the same 120W 24V DC motor and 400–2000N adjustable thrust as the AXI20DGS, yet handles a gate 25% longer and 50 kg heavier. This is possible because the encoder-based control system allows the control panel to apply progressive power delivery precisely calibrated to the actual gate load at each point in the 15-second cycle — ramping up thrust at startup when inertia is highest and modulating as the gate builds momentum. The thrust adjustment range (400–2000N) allows the installer to set a higher force level for the heavier 250 kg gate than would be used for a 200 kg gate. The geometry of the AXI25DGS’s bracket position (within C max 60mm) also means the lever arm is optimised for efficient force transfer to the gate leaf at the specified operating range.

Because the AXI25DGS uses an encoder that tracks the motor shaft position in real time, the compatible CAME control panel can be programmed to stop the gate at any angle up to the motor’s maximum opening — enabling a partial pedestrian opening (typically 45° to 60° for foot traffic) triggered by a separate pushbutton, keypad press, or access card, without opening the gate fully. This is particularly useful for Abu Dhabi villas where household staff, delivery personnel, or visitors need pedestrian access without vehicle-width gate opening. Motors using work-time limits or mechanical stops (like the ATHOS AC or ATI A3000) cannot achieve this because they have no position feedback to stop at a specific intermediate angle.

The CAME AXI25DGS carries a 24-month manufacturer warranty from purchase covering manufacturing defects and material failures. The most critical installation factor specific to this model is the C max 60mm bracket geometry: mounting the bracket beyond 60mm from the hinge pivot places the actuator outside its designed operating arc, causing off-axis forces throughout the cycle that degrade the gearmotor and void warranty. The 5A 24V supply must be maintained without voltage sag — a control panel transformer rated below 5A will cause encoder position errors and erratic gate behaviour. The IP44 rating requires a sheltered pillar installation away from direct dust accumulation and water spray.
