KEY RAY40 230V Swing Gate Motor

The KEY RAY40 specifies its force as 2000N pulling force — the force the motor applies when retracting the rod to close the gate, rather than extending it to open. This is the first motor in the POWERgate Abu Dhabi range to specify force as pull rather than thrust. In practice, if the gate bracket geometry means the motor pulls on closing (which is the higher-demand direction for gates that open inward against stops), the 2000N pull rating confirms the motor’s capacity in that direction. For most Abu Dhabi villa gates, push and pull force are nearly equal; always confirm with the installer that bracket geometry matches the specified force direction.

The KEY RAY40 kit includes the 900RX4K 4-channel plug-in receiver storing up to 1000 remote control codes in fixed or rolling code format with a blue LED. This is a significantly higher capacity than most kits in the range — the CAME AXL 2M stores 25 users, and most kits don’t specify user limits. 1000-code storage makes the RAY40 suitable for apartment blocks, gated communities, or commercial compounds in Abu Dhabi where many residents need individual remote access. Individual codes can be deleted without affecting others, and the 433 MHz SUB44WF transmitters use XR rolling code encryption.

The KEY RAY40’s 40% duty cycle means the motor can operate for 40% of any given time period before requiring a rest interval — approximately 25–30 complete gate cycles per day. This is higher than the 30% standard residential rating but below 50% or intensive ratings. The 40% level is suited to Abu Dhabi villa gates with above-average traffic, light commercial entrances, or shared access properties where a standard 30% motor is regularly pushed close to its limit. The 150°C thermal protection engages if the duty is exceeded, with automatic reset once cooled.

The KEY RAY40 kit includes the FT33 photocell pair, designed for external use with a flush-mounting installation option. Flush-mounting means the photocell transmitter and receiver can be recessed into the gate pillar surface rather than projecting outward on surface-mount brackets — producing a cleaner, more discreet appearance on Abu Dhabi villa entrances where aesthetics are important. The FT33 photocells form the primary safety beam across the gate opening, stopping gate movement if a vehicle, person, or object interrupts the beam mid-cycle. Compatible with the CT202 control unit included in the kit.

The KEY RAY40 carries a 24-month manufacturer warranty. Key Automation notes that gate shape, height, and wind exposure can reduce the motor’s stated 4m/600kg operating limits in practice — a tall solid-panel gate at 4m in a wind-exposed Abu Dhabi location may require a lower weight or length specification to remain within motor capacity. The CT202 control unit must be correctly wired to both the 230V supply and the 900RX4K receiver. The IP44 rating requires sheltered mounting.
