The BOB50M and BILL50M serve overlapping gate sizes but use fundamentally different mechanisms. The BOB50M uses a Ø20mm rolled ball screw with 455mm stroke and 3500N thrust — the highest thrust in either the BOB or BILL range — and produces quieter, smoother actuation with adjustable mechanical travel stops. The BILL50M uses a worm gear with 500mm stroke and 2800N thrust, carries IP54 dust protection (versus BOB50M’s IP44), and opens in 21 seconds versus the BOB50M’s 26 seconds. For maximum thrust and quiet operation, the BOB50M leads. For superior dust protection and faster cycling, the BILL50M is stronger. The BENINCA BOB50M is compatible with both the HEADY and BRAINY 230 Vac control units. The HEADY (supplied in the standard kit) is a fully capable residential control board with an integrated 433.92 MHz receiver, LCD display, independent torque adjustment per motor, and rolling code radio support. The BRAINY is BENINCA’s more advanced control unit offering additional features including remote diagnostics, gate status monitoring, and smarter slow-down management — suited to commercial sites or higher-specification installations where remote management and enhanced safety logic are required. The BOB50M takes 26 seconds to complete a full open cycle — the longest in the BOB and BILL range — because its 455mm ball screw stroke must travel the full distance to extend leaves up to 5.0 metres. A full open/close sequence takes approximately 54–58 seconds. At a 30% duty cycle, this equates to approximately 15 to 18 full cycles per day at Abu Dhabi ambient temperatures. For residential villa use with moderate daily gate movements, this is adequate. For high-frequency commercial sites, the 30% duty cycle and 26-second cycle time should be assessed against the actual daily cycle count before specifying the BOB50M.

The BOB50M includes a top-access manual release mechanism activated by inserting the release key into the top of the motor housing to disengage the Ø20mm ball screw actuator. At 11.6 kg per motor, the BOB50M is the heaviest unit in the BENINCA BOB and BILL range, and with gate leaves up to 5.0m being the largest the range covers, gate hinges and pivots must be exceptionally well-maintained and lubricated for manual operation to be safe and manageable during a power cut. We recommend verifying manual release operation during commissioning before relying on it in an emergency.

The BENINCA BOB50M carries a 24-month manufacturer warranty from the date of purchase, covering material and workmanship defects under normal operating conditions. Warranty is voided by power surge damage to the HEADY or BRAINY control unit, incorrect bracket geometry that places off-axis stress on the Ø20mm ball screw shaft, or unauthorised modification of any component.
