The TAU ARM2000BI and the Somfy Ixengo JL 230V are both covered-screw surface operators. The TAU ARM2000BI is distinctively different: it uses an 18V DC motor supply, an optical encoder for stroke self-learning, a bronze lead nut, intensive-use duty rating, and a 12-second 90° cycle on a 3m gate. The Somfy JL uses a 230V AC screw mechanism with 3000N bidirectional force and RTS radio. The TAU ARM2000BI is a single motor unit with weld-on brackets; the Somfy JL is a complete kit. Choose the ARM2000BI for encoder-managed intensive use with optical position feedback.

The TAU ARM2000BI is the only swing gate motor in the POWERgate Abu Dhabi range with an 18V DC motor supply. All other DC motors in the range use 24V DC; mains motors use 230V AC. The 18V motor is likely powered by the TAU control unit’s internal transformer, which steps down mains supply to 18V.
