TAU ARM2000BR Swing Gate Motor Kit

The TAU ARM2000BR’s 9-second 90° opening time is the fastest of any covered-screw swing gate motor in the POWERgate Abu Dhabi range. Among all surface swing gate motors regardless of mechanism, 9 seconds matches the DEA STING/24-BOOST range as the joint fastest in the range. The BFT E5 BT A18, KEY RAY FAST, and NICE WINGO HS also reach 10 seconds, making the ARM2000BR’s 9 seconds exceptional for a covered-screw operator at 2.5m gate leaf length. The fast opening reflects the ARM2000BR’s explicit “fast operator” designation.

The TAU 750D749MA-R is an all-in-one electronic control unit for 1 or 2 DC fast operators with encoder. It integrates a 433.92 MHz rolling-code 3-channel radio receiver, battery charger circuit, mains transformer, and protective enclosure in one housing. Having the battery charger built in means a backup battery can be connected directly without a separate charger. The integrated transformer steps down mains voltage to 24V DC for the ARM2000BR motor. This consolidated unit simplifies installation — only power input and motor connections are needed, with no external receiver module or transformer required.

The TAU ARM2000BR operates at 24V DC — the standard voltage for the majority of DC gate motors in the POWERgate Abu Dhabi range. The ARM2000BI uses an 18V DC motor, which is unique across the range. The ARM2000BR’s 24V supply makes it directly compatible with standard 24V backup batteries, 24V solar supply systems, and the wider ecosystem of 24V gate accessories, without requiring a specific 18V supply chain. The 24V motor also delivers the ARM2000BR’s fast 9-second cycle with intensive-use duty for busy Abu Dhabi entrances.

The TAU ARM2000BR’s optical encoder counts precise position increments throughout the gate’s travel. During commissioning, the 750D749MA-R control unit runs the gate through one full open and close cycle while the encoder records the exact stroke count from end to end. These recorded counts become the gate’s position limits for all subsequent cycles. The encoder also provides real-time resistance monitoring for obstacle detection — if the gate slows unexpectedly mid-travel, the control unit detects the encoder slowdown as an obstacle and reverses. This self-learning eliminates manual run-time adjustment entirely.

The TAU ARM2000BR carries a 24-month manufacturer warranty. As with the ARM2000BI, IP rating, gate weight limit, and operating temperature are not published for the ARM2000BR — these must be confirmed from the official TAU datasheet before installation in Abu Dhabi’s outdoor environment. The weld-on brackets require a welding-capable installer. Optional adjustable brackets are available if welding is not feasible.
