The BEA MATRIX is a single-channel inductive loop detector that senses vehicle presence through a wire loop cut into the ground. When a vehicle parks over the loop, the detector triggers a relay output that tells the barrier to open, hold open, or signal the access control system. It is the in-ground sensor that completes the automatic vehicle detection chain at Abu Dhabi parking entrances and exits.

The BEA MATRIX’s 25ms reaction time means the relay output fires within 25 milliseconds of a vehicle entering the loop. Faster reaction prevents the barrier arm from initiating a close cycle while the vehicle is still partially over the loop. At Abu Dhabi high-throughput parking lanes where vehicles move quickly, 25ms detection helps prevent arm-on-vehicle contact events.

250 sensitivity steps allow the installer to fine-tune detection threshold precisely — from very low sensitivity (0.005%) to high (0.5%) — matching the loop geometry and vehicle type at each Abu Dhabi site. The Automatic Sensitivity Boost (ASB) increases sensitivity temporarily when a slow-moving or large vehicle is difficult to detect, reducing missed-detection events without requiring manual reconfiguration.
