The NORTECH PD232’s A-B logic uses its two loop channels to detect travel direction: A to B triggers CH1 and B to A triggers CH2. At Abu Dhabi barriers where entry and exit share one lane, this lets the control panel respond differently to arriving and departing vehicles from a single detector.

The NORTECH PD232 offers four sensitivity steps per channel, from High at 0.02% ΔL/L to Low at 0.5% ΔL/L. Its switch-selectable Automatic Sensitivity Boost raises sensitivity after detection to hold high-bed vehicles, and 20–1000 μH self-tuning adapts to different Abu Dhabi loop sizes.

Choose presence mode on the NORTECH PD232 for a safety loop that holds the barrier open while a vehicle remains over it, and pulse mode (150ms, 250ms factory option) for a trigger loop that issues an open command. Limited presence releases after about 1 hour at 3% ΔL/L; permanent presence never times out.

The NORTECH PD232 protects its loop inputs with a loop isolation transformer, zener diode clamping, and gas discharge tube, guarding against voltage surges. Its -40°C to +80°C operating range and high-heat ABS housing suit Abu Dhabi barrier cabinets, which can run hot in summer.
