About DEA
DEA is an Italian manufacturer of automation for gates and garage doors, together with remote controls and control boards. In Abu Dhabi you will find DEA motors on villa gates, townhouse entrances and home garages. The Livi series covers sliding gates from 400 kg to 900 kg, the Gulliver handles heavy gates up to 2,500 kg, and the Geko, Ghost, Mac and Sting cover swing gates.
For a customer this means two things. A new DEA gate is simple to automate, and an old DEA gate can usually be repaired without replacing the whole motor, because boards, photocells and remotes are sold separately. DEA remotes are very common on older gates in the UAE, which is why we list a wide choice of GT and Mio transmitters as well as boards and motors.

Shared entrances open many times a day. Choose a heavier rating than the gate needs, such as the Livi 9X/E/M or the Gulliver for sliding gates, add photocells and a flashing light, and keep a spare remote and board in stock.
Garages and townhouses
Home garage doors in Abu Dhabi open several times a day in high heat, and the Space XL is our DEA garage door motor. Townhouse gates are often narrow, so a swing motor such as the Geko, Ghost 100, Mac or Sting can avoid the long run-back a sliding gate needs.
Musaffah and industrial yards
Long, heavy steel gates in workshops and warehouses need a motor built for the load, such as the 2,500 kg Gulliver. These gates collect sand, so a sound rack and regular cleaning matter.
Keeping a DEA motor reliable in the UAE climate
- Heat: Fit the control board in a shaded, ventilated spot and keep the motor cover closed, so heat above 45°C and dust stay out.
- Dust and sand: Clean and lightly grease the rack every few months and keep the limit switches free of sand. A worn rack makes the gate jerk and overheats a Livi motor.
- Humidity and coastal air: On Abu Dhabi island and near the sea, check cable entries and the board for moisture and corrosion.
- Power and safety: Voltage spikes damage boards, so use a surge protector. Keep photocells such as the Line-X aligned and clean, so the gate stops safely when something is in the way.
- Service: A yearly check by a technician is cheaper than replacing a burnt board or gearmotor.
