The DEA STING and DEA MAC share the same 334mm stroke, 110° opening, 3m/400kg capacity, IPX4, <70 dBA, and DEA ram operator design. The critical differences: the STING uses screwed adjustable fixing plates (no welding required), while the MAC requires a welded fixing plate. The STING offers five model variants reaching up to 75 cycles/hour and 9-second cycles; the MAC offers two variants at 18 cycles/hour. The STING does not include a control board; the MAC includes one. For high-frequency use, the STING’s 24-BOOST variant outperforms the MAC significantly.

Five STING models cover different needs. STING 625050 (230V, 20.9s, 18 cycles/hr) suits standard residential. STING/EN 625052 (230V, 16.5s, 22 cycles/hr) is the enhanced 230V option for busier entrances. STING/24 625051 (24V, 40 cycles/hr) suits commercial 24V installations. The DEA STING’s adjustable screwed fixing plates are bolted to the gate leaf rather than welded, making the STING the more installation-friendly option compared to the DEA MAC’s welded requirement. Screwed plates can be repositioned during installation if bracket geometry needs adjustment, require no metal fabrication equipment on-site, and are accessible on aluminium gates or powder-coated steel where welding risks damage. The plates are adjustable, allowing the installer to fine-tune the motor’s bracket angle to match the gate geometry precisely. This also makes future bracket replacement or repositioning straightforward without cutting welds.

The DEA STING is supplied as a single motor unit with adjustable fixing plates only — no control board is included. A complete installation requires a separate NET230N/C board for 230V models or NET24N/C board for 24V models from the DEA DE@NET range, plus photocells, a flashing light, remote controls, and a push button. This separates the STING from the DEA MAC kit, which bundles the control board with the motors.
