The ERREKA ARES’s -25°C to +60°C operating range is the widest of any swing gate motor in the POWERgate Abu Dhabi range. Both ends set records: the -25°C minimum is colder than any other motor (most are -20°C), while the +60°C maximum exceeds the next-highest ratings of +55°C (most CAME motors) and +50°C (Centurion, DEA). For Abu Dhabi installations where gate pillars face direct sun and surface temperatures can exceed ambient air temperature significantly, the ARES’s +60°C ceiling provides a genuine safety margin that other 230V motors in the range do not offer.

The ERREKA ARES carries IP43 protection: the 4 means protection against solid objects larger than 1mm (including most tool ends and wires, but not dust), and the 3 means protection against water spray falling at up to 60° from vertical — rainfall and light splash, but not horizontal water spray. This is slightly more limited than the IP44 on most surface motors in the range, which adds full-angle water splash protection. For Abu Dhabi, the ARES should be mounted in a sheltered pillar recess or with a drip cover fitted to protect against irrigation spray from below or directly to the side.

The ERREKA ARES’s electronic soft stop decelerates the gate smoothly before reaching its open or closed position, preventing the impact shock that occurs when a full-speed gate hits its mechanical stop. Unlike purely mechanical slowdown, the soft stop is controlled electronically by the VIVO-M201 panel, allowing the deceleration profile to be adjusted during commissioning. For Abu Dhabi villa gates where sudden impact noise or vibration on the gate post is undesirable, the soft stop meaningfully extends the service life of gate hinges, welded brackets, and pillar fixings by eliminating repeated mechanical shock on every cycle.

ERREKA specifies two conditions where an electrolock is obligatory. First, on all unlocking model variants regardless of leaf length. Second, on locking model variants when the gate leaf exceeds 1.80 metres. Leaves longer than 1.80m generate sufficient wind-catch area and lever force at the latch point that the ARES’s internal locking mechanism alone cannot reliably hold the gate shut. For most Abu Dhabi villa gates — which typically exceed 1.80m per leaf — this means an electrolock is effectively mandatory in practice. The ERREKA ARES is available in two spindle lengths with different performance profiles. The 300mm spindle reaches 100° maximum opening at 18mm/second rod speed, suited for gate leaves up to 3.0m. The 400mm spindle (recommended for gates over 2.5m) reaches 120° maximum opening at a slower 12mm/second, suited for gates up to 4.0m. The longer spindle covers a wider arc but moves more slowly through it, giving the motor more mechanical advantage to handle longer, potentially heavier leaves. The ERREKA ARES carries a 24-month manufacturer warranty. The electrolock obligation is the most common installation compliance risk: operating without the required electrolock on leaves over 1.80m voids warranty and creates a security gap under wind loading. The IP43 rating requires a sheltered, drip-protected installation position to prevent horizontal spray ingress.
