Both the FAAC 741 and the FAAC 740 use 230V, 12 m/min, Z16 M4 pinion, IP44, +55°C, encoder obstacle detection, SLH radio, XP 20D photocells, and XT2 LR transmitter. The 741 steps up to 900 kg at 500W, 40% duty, simplified display programming, and a non-reversing gearmotor design. The 740 handles 500 kg at 350W and 30% duty. The 741 explicitly states no electric lock is required for standard installations. At AED 1,675, it is AED 400 more than the 740 for double the gate weight capacity.

The FAAC 741’s non-reversing gearmotor means the internal gearbox cannot be back-driven by external force — a person or vehicle cannot push or pull the gate along its track without engaging the manual release. This passive mechanical locking replaces the function of an electric lock on a sliding gate. FAAC explicitly states that an electric lock is not required for standard non-reversing operation, saving the cost of an electric lock and its wiring. For Abu Dhabi residential gates where security against forced manual movement is important, the non-reversing design provides passive gate security without additional hardware.
