The FAAC C720 and the FAAC 740 are both FAAC residential sliding gate motors with IP44, magnetic limit switches, and anti-crushing safety. The C720 uses a 24V DC motor at 170W, patented moving-axis reduction, Z28 M4 pinion, E720 board, up to 18 m/min, 400 kg, and BUS photocell compatibility. The FAAC 740 uses a 230V asynchronous motor at 350W, standard reduction, Z16 pinion, 740D board, 12 m/min, and 500 kg. Choose the C720 for battery backup, higher speed, and FAAC BUS compatibility; the 740 for heavier 500 kg gates on standard 230V supply.

The FAAC C720 uses FAAC’s patented moving-axis reduction principle — a proprietary gearbox architecture where the axis of the output gear shifts position as the motor runs, producing high mechanical efficiency with fewer gear stages than a conventional fixed-axis gearbox. This geometry reduces internal friction losses, converting more of the 170W motor input into useful gate-moving force rather than heat. The result is the C720’s ability to drive a 400 kg gate at up to 18 m/min from only 170W and 24V — significantly more efficient than the 230V motors in the FAAC range at higher wattage.

The FAAC C720’s Z28 Module 4 pinion has 28 teeth, the highest tooth count of any FAAC sliding gate motor in the POWERgate Abu Dhabi range. The 740, 741, 746, and 844 all use Z16 pinions (16 teeth). BUS photocells communicate status, fault codes, and alignment data digitally to the E720, allowing the board to distinguish between a genuine beam interruption and a photocell alignment fault or cable issue.
