io-homecontrol is Somfy’s bidirectional 868-870 MHz protocol where devices confirm receipt of commands. RTS (Radio Technology Somfy) operates at 433.42 MHz and is one-way — the hub sends commands but receives no confirmation. Zigbee 3.0 is an open smart home mesh protocol for third-party compatible sensors, lighting, and smart devices. The TaHoma Switch manages all three simultaneously from one hub and one app, making it the correct bridge for Abu Dhabi properties mixing Somfy gate motors, garage door motors, and other smart home devices.

The Somfy TaHoma Switch supports up to 200 io-homecontrol products, up to 50 RTS products, and up to 50 Zigbee 3.0 products, with a combined maximum of 200 total products. Additionally it supports up to 50 Somfy sensors or alarm sensors, up to 5 cameras, and the 1 Philips Hue bridge with 50 Hue lighting products. For Abu Dhabi villas and apartments managing multiple automated blinds, gates, garage doors, and lighting zones from one hub, these limits comfortably cover most residential and light commercial installations.
