The SOMMER RUNner+ 800 officially permits gate inclination of up to 5% — meaning the gate track can slope slightly along its travel path rather than being perfectly level. Most gate motor specifications assume a horizontal track. For Abu Dhabi properties where the driveway or boundary runs at a slight gradient, the RUNner+ 800’s declared 5% tolerance allows the motor to operate reliably without modification. This is a published specification that many manufacturers in the range do not address.

The SOMMER RUNner+ 800 includes a 4m solid steel rack (article 5825V001), while the lighter SOMMER RUNner 600 includes a plastic rack with steel core. At 800 kg and 28 Nm torque, a solid steel rack provides full structural rigidity and resistance to deformation under sustained load. The RUNner 600’s hybrid rack suits its lower 20 Nm load. For sites with 800 kg gates in Abu Dhabi, the solid steel rack also withstands the higher impact forces at the pinion engagement point over years of daily cycling.
