The SOMFY ELIXO 500 3S RTS allows 10 distinct programmable speed values for opening and 10 for closing separately, selectable via the 7-button interface. This allows the installer to set a slower opening speed for pedestrian-sensitive Abu Dhabi villa entrances and a faster closing speed for security, or vice versa. Most residential gate motors in the range offer only adjustable speed without distinct opening/closing separation, making the ELIXO 500’s per-direction speed selection notably flexible.

The SOMFY ELIXO 500 3S RTS’s 7-button programming interface with 3-character LCD screen provides on-motor parameter access without a separate programmer tool. The onboard diagnostics log a cycle counter, obstacle detection data, memorised radio channels, and the last 10 stored faults with fault codes. For Abu Dhabi installers troubleshooting a gate issue, the 10-fault log provides a history of what triggered stops or errors, reducing diagnostic time compared to motors with no fault memory.
