A 100% duty (very intensive) rating on a 230V 2000 kg motor is exceptional. Most 230V motors at this weight class carry 50–70% duty, requiring rest periods between cycles. The SOMFY ELIXO 2000’s 750W motor with full-steel gearing and oil-bath lubrication can sustain continuous operation within its 100 daily cycles limit without enforced thermal rest intervals, making it one of the highest-duty 230V commercial sliding gate motors in the POWERgate Abu Dhabi range.

SOMFY’s RTS (Radio Technology Somfy) operates at 433.42 MHz rather than the standard 433.92 MHz used by most other gate motors in the range. RTS is a bidirectional rolling-code protocol where the motor confirms receipt of each command back to the transmitter. This is incompatible with standard 433.92 MHz remotes — only SOMFY RTS transmitters such as the included Keytis 2 2-channel remote work with the ELIXO 2000’s built-in RTS receiver. Existing non-SOMFY remotes cannot be used.

The SOMFY ELIXO 2000’s full-steel motor reducer gear is stronger and more wear-resistant than aluminium, bronze-aluminium, or mixed-metal gear trains used in lighter motors. At 2000 kg and 40 Nm torque, all-steel gearing sustains the sustained force without creep or deformation. The oil-bath lubrication provides constant film coverage across all gear surfaces, and at -20°C to +60°C, the oil maintains adequate viscosity for Abu Dhabi’s summer peak temperatures without thinning excessively.

The SOMFY ELIXO 2000 kit includes: 1× ELIXO 2000 RTS motor, 2× Keytis 2 RTS 2-channel remotes, 1× Master Pro Bitech photocell pair, 1× orange flashing light, 4× 1m nylon rack, and 1× push button. The Master Pro Bitech photocells use SOMFY’s Bitech wiring protocol for direct connection to the ELIXO control board. Maximum 32 storable RTS channels, expandable to 40.
