The GIBIDI PASS 800 and GIBIDI MINNOW 500 are both Italian 230V irreversible heavy-duty sliding gate motors with Z16 M4 pinion, painted aluminium body, and +60°C rating. The PASS 800 steps up to 800 kg, IP55, heat-treated gears in oil bath, adjustable speed, mechanical and electronic torque control, 24Nm, embedded encoder, and 10cm horizontal compact design. The MINNOW 500 handles 500 kg at IP44, grease lubrication, fixed speed, electronic torque only, and 12Nm. The PASS 800 is the higher-protection, adjustable-speed GIBIDI option.

The GIBIDI PASS 800 features a direct horizontal motor design approximately 10cm thick — a compact, low-profile form factor that requires less clearance space between the motor housing and the gate pillar face than taller vertical motor designs. For Abu Dhabi gate pillars with limited recess depth or narrow face dimensions, the 10cm horizontal profile allows the PASS 800 to fit in constrained spaces that would not accommodate a deeper motor body. This compact geometry also reduces the visual footprint of the motor at the gate entrance, which matters for residential villas with ornamental pillar designs.

The GIBIDI PASS 800’s IP55 rating provides complete dust protection (5) and water jet resistance from any direction (5), upgrading from the MINNOW 500’s IP44 (1mm objects, splash). IP55 means fine Abu Dhabi sand particles and shamal dust cannot enter the motor housing, and water jets from irrigation or pressure washing are resisted. The oil-bath gear system further protects internal components from contamination. For Abu Dhabi outdoor gate installations in exposed positions without overhead shelter, IP55 provides meaningfully better long-term protection than IP44.

The GIBIDI PASS 800 uses two independent torque control systems. The mechanical torque control is a physical clutch or slip mechanism that limits the maximum force transmitted to the pinion regardless of electrical input — a hardware safety layer that operates even during board failure. The electronic torque control via the embedded encoder monitors motor current and position to detect obstacles and adjust force electronically during each cycle. Together, they provide dual-layer anti-crushing protection, making the PASS 800’s obstacle response more reliable than single-method systems for a heavy 800 kg gate at 9.6 m/min.

The GIBIDI PASS 800 carries a 24-month GIBIDI warranty. Standard packing contains the motor unit only. All accessories — photocells, remote controls, receiver, rack, flashing light, foundation plate, and push button — must be sourced separately. The PASS 800 uses GBD PH-01 oil (different from the MINNOW 500’s GBD PH-02 grease). A 115 Vac version is available for sites with 110V infrastructure.
