The SEA Mercury’s compatibility with the SEA KIT SUNNY solar recharge system allows the motor to operate entirely off-grid using a solar panel and battery. For Abu Dhabi boundary walls, agricultural properties, or remote compound entrances without mains power, solar automation eliminates the need for underground electrical cabling to the gate location. The 1.2Ah optional emergency battery (code 1271529) provides short-term backup, while the KIT SUNNY charges the battery via solar panel for sustained off-grid operation.

The SEA Mercury’s IP55 rating provides complete dust-tight protection (first digit 5) and water jet resistance from any direction (second digit 5). For Abu Dhabi’s outdoor environment, the dust-tight rating prevents fine sand and shamal dust from entering the die-cast aluminium housing during sustained outdoor exposure. Most residential 800 kg motors in the range carry IP44, offering only 1mm solid object protection.
