TELCOMA STONE 3 Swing Gate Motor Kit

The TELCOMA STONE 3 uses an oscillating rear bracket — a pivot-mounted pillar fixing that allows the bracket to flex slightly in response to gate leaf sagging over time. All other motors in the POWERgate Abu Dhabi range use fixed rear brackets that cannot accommodate gate geometry changes. When a gate leaf sags due to hinge wear, frame warping, or settlement, a fixed bracket applies increasing angular stress to the motor rod. The STONE 3’s oscillating bracket absorbs this angular change, keeping the rod aligned and reducing stress on the 300mm piston throughout the motor’s service life.

The standard TELCOMA STONE 3 is an irreversible motor — its gearbox cannot be back-driven by external force, mechanically locking the gate when stationary. The STONE3REV is the reversible version, meaning the motor can be pushed back by an external force on the gate leaf. A reversible motor allows pedestrians to manually push the gate open without a key or manual release in a power failure, at the cost of no passive mechanical hold. For Abu Dhabi gates where emergency pedestrian egress without a key is a priority, the STONE3REV is the appropriate specification.

The TELCOMA STONE 3 kit includes VEDO 180 photocells — an adjustable photocell pair whose beam angle can be rotated through 180°, allowing the transmitter and receiver to be angled precisely at the gate opening without strict parallel alignment between the two pillars. The APRO key selector is a key-switch control panel allowing a physical key to trigger gate open, close, or pedestrian opening independently of the radio system. For Abu Dhabi villa entrances with a keyed access point for security staff, delivery personnel, or a guard position, the APRO provides a hardwired backup to the radio.

The TELCOMA STONE 3 specifies 370 VA (volt-amperes) as its power rating — the apparent power drawn from the mains, combining both real power (watts) and reactive power from inductive motor windings. The VA figure is always equal to or higher than the actual watt consumption; for a 230V AC motor with a 10 µF capacitor, the capacitor supplies reactive current locally, but the mains supply still sees the full VA draw. For circuit breaker and cabling sizing, the VA figure determines the current demand, which is why TELCOMA publishes it alongside the 1.6A maximum current draw.

The TELCOMA STONE 3 carries a 24-month manufacturer warranty. The T201 control unit must manage the encoder — without it, the encoder data, torque adjustment, and slowdown functions are unavailable. The oscillating rear bracket must be correctly pivoted during installation; a jammed pivot negates the sagging compensation. The TS10 grease lubrication must not be substituted with incompatible lubricants. The AP mechanical limit switch connection point is “prepared” but not populated; fitting limit switches requires the optional AP accessory.
