NICE rates the SPIN40 differently by door type because sectional and up-and-over doors generate different load profiles on the motor. Sectional doors distribute their panel weight across multiple hinges, rollers, and spring counterbalancing, reducing the effective motor load. Up-and-over doors are a single rigid panel pivoting at the base — the full inertial load concentrates at the single pivot point during opening. The 0.7 m² difference between 12.5 m² sectional and 11.8 m² up-and-over accounts for this higher inertial demand on the same 1000N motor.
