The NICE HYKEBDKCE and NICE HOPPBDKCE are both 24V DC BlueBUS articulated arm kits with asymmetric motor pairs, EPMB photocells, and ELDC flashers. The HYKE steps up to 3.5m/200kg or 1.8m/330kg, 500Nm peak/120Nm nominal, 40 cycles/hour, and 7-minute continuous limit, while the HOPP handles 2.4m/160kg, 250Nm/100Nm, 35 cycles/hour, and 10 minutes. The HYKE adds an anti-shear aluminium arm, Solemyo solar compatibility, IT4WIFI/Yubii smart home integration, and up to 500,000-cycle durability. For gates between 2.4m and 3.5m or higher-duty use, the HYKE is the correct NICE arm motor selection.

The NICE HYKE uses an anti-shear aluminium arm — the arm components are engineered from aluminium with a structural profile that resists shear forces applied perpendicular to the arm’s axis. When a gate leaf is pushed, hit, or catches wind at a wide-open position, the arm experiences lateral shear stress at its joint points. Standard arm motors use steel or standard aluminium profiles; NICE’s anti-shear designation indicates the HYKE arm is specifically reinforced to resist this failure mode. For Abu Dhabi gates exposed to shamal wind gusts while open, anti-shear arm construction is a meaningful long-term durability specification.

Solemyo is NICE’s solar-powered automation ecosystem. When the optional Solemyo components are connected to the HYKE’s control unit, the gate operates entirely on solar energy stored in a battery, eliminating the need for mains electrical connection to the gate motor. The 24V DC HYKE motor is inherently compatible with solar battery supply at the same voltage. For Abu Dhabi off-grid entrances, perimeter gates far from electrical infrastructure, or gated estates where trenching a power supply cable is costly, Solemyo allows the HYKE to automate the gate using Abu Dhabi’s abundant year-round solar resource.

NICE states the HYKEBDKCE has an estimated 150,000 to 500,000 cycle durability depending on installation conditions and severity index. The severity index is NICE’s measure of cumulative mechanical stress per cycle, accounting for gate weight, leaf length, wind exposure, and cycle frequency. A light gate on a sheltered site reaches the upper 500,000-cycle estimate; a heavy gate in a wind-exposed Abu Dhabi location sits closer to 150,000. At 20 cycles per day, 500,000 cycles represents 68 years; 150,000 cycles represents 20 years — well beyond normal product replacement horizons in either scenario.

The NICE HYKE’s opening angle depends on which arm configuration is used during installation. The full-length arm configuration allows up to 110° maximum opening, while a reduced arm configuration (shorter effective arm length) limits the arc to 90°. The reduced arm is used when gate geometry, pillar width, or space constraints prevent the full arm from operating through 110° without fouling the pillar or wall. The installer selects the correct arm configuration during installation based on the site survey. A 110° opening is preferred for maximum vehicle clearance; 90° is the fallback for constrained sites.

The NICE HYKEBDKCE carries a 24-month manufacturer warranty. Smart home integration is available via the IT4WIFI or Yubii gateway (sold separately), enabling smartphone control, remote status monitoring, and event logging through the NICE ecosystem. The optional PSS124 backup battery maintains gate operation during power cuts. The 15 BlueBUS unit maximum load limits how many bus-connected accessories can be connected — exceeding this causes bus communication failures.
