The NICE Toona 5 TO5016 and NICE TOONA 4 TO4006 share the same 230V supply, 600N/1800N force, MC800 control unit, IP44, 7µF capacitor, 140°C thermal, and insulation class F. The TO5016 handles gates up to 5m with a 505mm stroke at 0.010 m/s loaded and 54 cycles/hour. The TO4006 handles 3m with a 350mm stroke at 0.012 m/s loaded and 58 cycles/hour. For Abu Dhabi gates between 3m and 5m per leaf, the TO5016 is the correct NICE Toona selection. Both need gate weight verified against NICE’s usage chart.

The NICE Toona 5 TO5016’s 505mm rod stroke provides the extended lever arm distance needed to drive a 5m gate leaf through a full 90°+ arc from a standard pillar bracket position. A longer stroke means the bracket-to-hinge geometry creates sufficient rotational torque at the hinge pivot to move the heavier, longer gate leaf. The trade-off is speed: at the same 600N nominal force, the motor moves the longer stroke at 0.010 m/s under load — slower than the TO4006’s 0.012 m/s — reflecting the greater distance per cycle.

The NICE Toona 5 TO5016 is compatible with three NICE receiver options: OXI (standard range plug-in receiver), OXIBD (bidirectional with confirmation signal back to transmitter), and OXILR (long-range receiver). The OXILR extends the operating range of NICE transmitters beyond standard OXI distances — useful for Abu Dhabi large compound or estate gates where the user triggers the gate from further away, such as from a vehicle approaching along a long private road before the gate is in normal remote range. The included kit supplies the standard OXI; the OXIBD and OXILR are available as upgrades.

The NICE Toona 5 TO5016 is compatible with two NICE photocell types. EPM: standard relay-output photocells that connect to the MC800 via conventional wiring terminals — included in the kit. EPMB: BlueBUS-compatible photocells that connect over a two-wire digital bus instead of separate wiring pairs. EPMB photocells are an upgrade option, reducing the number of conductors needed in the cable run from the pillar to the control unit. For Abu Dhabi installations where existing two-core conduit is already installed in the gate pillar, EPMB photocells enable a retrofit without adding new cable runs.

NICE publishes the TO5016’s weight capacity as a usage graph, showing values up to 600 kg at shorter leaf lengths, with capacity reducing as leaf length increases toward 5m. This reflects the mechanical reality that a longer leaf requires more torque per kilogram from the same 600N nominal force. NICE also states that strong wind or particular gate shapes reduce the values shown. For Abu Dhabi villa gates exposed to shamal winds or with large solid panels, the correct capacity is read from the chart for the specific leaf length, then reduced further for the wind exposure level at that site.

The NICE Toona 5 TO5016 carries a 24-month manufacturer warranty. Pre-selection checks: 1000 kg capacity is not confirmed by NICE for the TO5016 — use the official NICE Toona 5 usage graph for the specific leaf length. The 140°C thermal protection is lower than most motors, so the 54 cycles/hour limit is a strict ceiling. The 505mm rod must clear the gate leaf and wall in the fully open position.
