CAME ATS50AGS Swing Gate Motor

Both handle 5.0m gate leaves at 400 kg, but the ATS50AGS outperforms the ATI A5000 on four key specifications. The ATS50AGS completes 90° in 20 seconds versus the ATI A5000’s 30–40 seconds — up to twice as fast. The ATS50AGS supports 20 cycles per hour versus the ATI A5000’s 15 cycles per hour. The ATS50AGS carries IP54 protection versus the ATI A5000’s IP44. And the ATS50AGS consumes 250W versus the ATI A5000’s 260W. The ATI A5000’s advantage is its 400–4000N maximum thrust (vs ATS50AGS’s 400–3000N) and its status as a complete kit including control panel, remotes, photocells, and light. The ATS50AGS is sold as a single motor only at AED 4,375 versus the ATI A5000 complete kit at AED 4,475.

The telescopic gearmotor mechanism and bevel gear drive of the ATS50AGS enable it to move a 5.0m gate leaf at the same 250W used by the ATS30AGS on a 3.0m gate, for the same reason that all long-stroke surface motors achieve large-gate movement efficiently: the mounting bracket is positioned at the correct lever-arm distance from the hinge pivot, meaning the mechanical advantage of the lever geometry reduces the linear force required to move the gate through its arc. The telescoping arm extends further on the ATS50AGS to cover the 5.0m arc, adding 5 seconds to the cycle time but requiring no additional motor power. CAME’s 400–3000N thrust adjustment allows the same motor to be configured for both lighter and heavier 5.0m gate leaves within the 400 kg maximum.

The CAME ATS50AGS kit supplies one telescopic gearmotor (product code 801MP-0060) only. For a standard double-leaf swing gate installation you will need: a second ATS50AGS motor for the other gate leaf, a compatible CAME control panel for two-leaf 230V swing gate management, a pair of photocells (such as the CAME DELTA DIR) for safety compliance, a flashing warning light, remote controls, and appropriate fixing brackets for the ATS50AGS’s C Max. 200mm installation geometry. CAME also recommends an electric lock for 5.0m gate leaves to ensure reliable secure closure against wind loading. The C Max. 200mm is the maximum perpendicular distance between the gate hinge pivot axis and the motor bracket mounting point on the gate pillar. On a 5.0m gate leaf, this constraint is more critical than on shorter gate motors: a longer gate leaf creates a wider sweep arc, but the ATS50AGS’s telescoping arm must still initiate from within 200mm of the hinge to deliver its thrust at the correct mechanical angle throughout the gate’s 90°+ travel. An installer must measure the C dimension precisely before installation — if the pillar width or hinge position places the bracket beyond 200mm from the pivot, the ATS50AGS’s telescoping stroke geometry is insufficient and a different motor type such as the CAME ATI A5000 (which has no C dimension constraint) should be specified instead. This measurement step is non-negotiable for 5.0m gate installations.

The CAME ATS50AGS carries a 24-month manufacturer warranty from purchase covering material and workmanship defects. The most important warranty consideration specific to this model is the C Max. 200mm installation geometry: if the bracket is mounted beyond this distance from the hinge pivot, the telescoping arm operates at incorrect angles, creating off-axis stress that degrades the bevel gear mechanism and voids warranty. For a 5.0m gate leaf at 400 kg, CAME also recommends an electric lock for reliable closure — operating without one puts repeated stress on the motor’s mechanical lock holding a long heavy leaf against wind, which can cause premature wear.
