Magnetic limit switches detect gate position via a contactless magnet-and-sensor pair rather than physical cam contact, providing more precise and durable end-stop detection over the long term. For a 400 kg gate in Abu Dhabi cycling daily, magnetic switches eliminate the gradual mechanical wear of contact-based switches, maintaining consistent limit accuracy throughout the motor’s operational life without adjustment.

The R90/F2ES synchronized photocells use a coded synchronisation signal between the transmitter and receiver beam units to prevent cross-interference when two photocell pairs are installed close together — common when a sliding gate has one pair across the gate opening and another inside the travel path. Without synchronisation, two adjacent photocell pairs can pick up each other’s beams and generate false detections.
