LIFE Armor UNI DL Swing Gate Motor Kit

The LIFE Armor UNI DL includes a crushproof external shell — a reinforced outer housing designed to resist physical impact without cracking or deforming. This is the only swing gate motor in the POWERgate Abu Dhabi range to specify crushproof protection. For Abu Dhabi villa gates where vehicles manoeuvre in tight driveways, the risk of a vehicle mirror, door, or wheel catching the gate motor bracket is real. The crushproof shell absorbs minor impact without exposing the internal mechanism. The shell also protects the larger motor shaft and gears and the outdoor polyester paint coating from chipping under incidental contact.

The LIFE Armor UNI DL’s 80% work intermittence rating ties it with the KEY STAR 900 for the highest duty specification in the range. At 80%, the motor can run for 48 minutes of every hour without exceeding thermal limits. For a 40W articulated arm motor on 24V DC, this rating is exceptional and reflects the Armor’s thermal management design. For a typical Abu Dhabi villa with 15–20 gate cycles daily, 80% intermittence provides an extreme margin. The specification makes the Armor equally suitable for light commercial or shared residential entrances with significantly higher cycle demand.

The LIFE Armor UNI DL uses a jointed articulated arm specifically suited to installations on large solid pillars where a linear actuator cannot be bracket-mounted close enough to the hinge. Abu Dhabi villas frequently feature thick decorative stone or rendered masonry gate columns, sometimes 40–60cm wide. A standard linear rod motor requires a specific C-distance from hinge to bracket; on a very wide pillar, this distance may be impossible to achieve. The Armor’s articulated arm design accommodates wide pillar faces and mounts regardless of column depth, making it the correct motor type for this common Abu Dhabi installation scenario.

The LIFE Armor UNI DL motor body is coated with polyester paint formulated specifically for outdoor use. Outdoor polyester coatings are UV-stable, resistant to chalking and fading under direct sunlight, and provide better adhesion to aluminium substrates than standard spray paint. The aluminium motor structure with outdoor polyester coating resists the combination of Abu Dhabi’s intense UV, salt-laden coastal air, and temperature cycling that causes standard painted surfaces to peel within 2–3 years. This material and coating combination — alongside the crushproof shell — reflects LIFE’s focus on long-term outdoor durability in demanding climates.

The LIFE Armor UNI DL carries a 24-month manufacturer warranty. The articulated arm geometry must be correctly set during installation: incorrect arm pivot angle or bracket height causes the arm to bind at certain positions in the opening arc, stressing the 40W motor and triggering the protection circuit. Gate leaves must move freely by hand before motorisation. The built-in RG UNI 24R DL2 control unit must be correctly programmed and protected from moisture.
