RIB King Evo Kit Swing Gate Motor

The APP card is a Bluetooth module included in the RIB KIT KING EVO that plugs into the B2-CRX control board, enabling gate control from a smartphone via RIB’s official app. This is the only swing gate motor kit in the POWERgate Abu Dhabi range to include a Bluetooth smart control module as a standard, in-box component rather than an optional add-on. For Abu Dhabi villa owners who prefer smartphone gate access without purchasing a separate Wi-Fi or GSM module, the APP card provides direct wireless control within Bluetooth range from the gate or driveway entrance.

The RIB KING EVO specifies a -10°C lower operating temperature — the warmest minimum of any motor in the POWERgate Abu Dhabi range. All other motors in the range are rated to -20°C or colder. For Abu Dhabi, where temperatures never approach -10°C, this narrower cold-weather range has no practical impact on local installations. However, it confirms the KING EVO is designed and tested specifically for warmer-climate markets, optimising thermal management for conditions closer to Abu Dhabi’s +55°C upper limit rather than cold-climate performance.

The RIB KING EVO uses adjustable column attachments that do not require welding to the gate pillar. Most motor rear brackets require either welding to the pillar’s embedded steel plate or drilling into masonry. The no-weld design allows the bracket to be bolted and adjusted without hot-work permits or the vibration of drilling into rendered Abu Dhabi gate pillars, which risks cracking decorative finishes. The rear and front attachments are made in steel, maintaining structural strength while eliminating the welding step that typically requires a separate contractor or specialised equipment on residential villa sites.

The RIB KING EVO carries a 60% service rating — an intermediate duty level above the standard 30-40% residential and below the 80% high-frequency motors. At 60%, the motor can operate for 36 minutes of every hour before thermal rest. RIB also publishes 60 suggested daily cycles — approximately 30 full open/close vehicle entries per day. For Abu Dhabi compound entrances or villas with domestic staff, delivery vehicles, and multiple family vehicles requiring consistent daily access, 60 daily cycles provides comfortable headroom without approaching motor thermal limits.

The RIB KING EVO carries a 24-month manufacturer warranty. RIB mandates an electric lock for gate leaves longer than 2.5m — a firm requirement, not a recommendation. The -10°C lower limit confirms the motor is not suited to cold-climate use, but Abu Dhabi’s year-round warmth makes this irrelevant locally. The IP44 rating requires sheltered pillar mounting.
