About BFT
BFT is an Italian manufacturer of automation for gates, parking barriers and garage doors, together with remote controls, receivers and control boards. In Abu Dhabi you will find BFT motors on villa gates, compound entrances, car parks and workshop yards. Its ranges are named in families, such as Deimos, Ares and Icaro for sliding gates, Athos, Kustos and Phobos for swing gates, and Moovi and Giotto for parking barriers, so it is easy to size a motor up or down when the gate changes.
For a customer this means two things. A new BFT gate is simple to automate, and an old BFT gate can usually be repaired without replacing the whole motor, because boards, receivers, racks, locks and remotes are sold separately. That is why we list not only complete motors but also control boards, remotes, receivers, photocells, flashing lights, barrier booms and spare parts.

Using BFT gates in Abu Dhabi
Gates here work in heat above 45°C, fine dust and humid coastal air. The right model, and a little care, make a big difference to how long a motor lasts.
Villas and townhouses
Khalifa City, Al Reef, Mohammed Bin Zayed City, Al Raha and Yas. A 400 to 800 kg Deimos sliding motor, or a pair of Athos, Kustos or Phobos arm motors, covers most villa gates. If the pillars are narrow or you want a clean look, an underground Eli motor keeps the gate clear.
Compounds and buildings
Shared entrances open many times a day. Choose a heavier rating than the gate needs, such as an Ares for sliding gates, or a hydraulic Lux or Oro E for heavy swing leaves, add photocells and a flashing light, and keep a spare remote and board in stock.
Car parks and ramps
Towers, malls and offices need barriers that open all day. The Moovi 30, 30S, 50 and 60, and the Giotto, Michelangelo and Maxima Ultra, cover short lanes to wide entrances, with AQ and AT booms from 3 m to 6 m. Add the RME 1 BT loop detector for busy lanes.
Musaffah and industrial yards
Long, heavy steel gates in workshops and warehouses need the 1,500 to 3,500 kg range, such as the Ares Ultra, Icaro Smart or SP3500. These gates collect sand, so a sound rack and regular cleaning matter.
Keeping a BFT motor reliable in the UAE climate
- Heat: Fit the control board in a shaded, ventilated spot and keep the motor cover closed, so heat above 45°C and dust stay out.
- Dust and sand: Clean and lightly grease the rack every few months and keep the limit switches free of sand. A worn rack makes the gate jerk and overheats a Deimos or Ares motor. We list nylon and galvanized steel racks, springs and limit switch parts.
- Humidity and coastal air: On Abu Dhabi island and near the sea, check cable entries and the board for moisture and corrosion. For underground Eli motors, make sure the foundation box drains, because standing water shortens motor life.
- Power and safety: Voltage spikes damage boards, so use a surge protector. Keep photocells aligned and clean, so the gate stops safely when something is in the way.
- Service: A yearly check by a technician is cheaper than replacing a burnt board or gearmotor.

Choose by boom length and how often the barrier opens. The Moovi 50 is a 5 m barrier, the Moovi 30S is a high-speed model, and the Giotto, Michelangelo and Maxima Ultra suit busier or wider lanes.
